Whether you’re a professional artist or a hobbyist, creating amazing art can be an expensive endeavor. Making money as an artist or crafter takes more than talent. What determines the value of art? This is the most commonly asked question of any artist trying to sell their art. If you’re a new artist, you are most likely unknown, other than family and friends. And let’s face it, family and friends probably aren’t paying for your creations. Say you’ve been painting beautiful pictures for five years or less, such as myself. Yes, I’m a new artist. Being a new artist is a struggle, not only for myself but thousands of other new artists, too.

As any artist will tell you, sometimes it’s hard to get inspired when you’re looking at a blank canvas. For beginning artists, a blank canvas can be especially daunting. But, art and creativity should flow freely… without anxiety. Right? Well, eventually, they do! It happens after you stumble through the process of creating a finished painting- at least 50 times or so. If you paint enough, just like with anything else, it will get easier. The brushes will flow more smoothly, and so will your creativity. You will soon be able to put on canvas the picture that you see in your mind.
